While serving for 12 years in the United States Coast Guard as a federal law enforcement officer and a shipboard firefighter, William returned to college to receive his Florida state paramedic certification and his firefighter certification. He worked in the civilian sector as a public safety officer (police officer/ firefighter) for the City of Parkland, Florida, where he certified as a firearms range master, a DUI enforcement officer, and a school resource officer at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Following Parkland’s merger with outside municipalities, William continued his career as a professional firefighter/ paramedic for the city of Coral Springs. William is also an American Heart Association CPR instructor as well as a bleeding control instructor(B-CON). He has been a professional educator, teaching emergency medical technicians and emergency vehicle operations for several years.
